Windows 95/98 Dial-up Configuration Instructions
These instructions are for manual configuration of your dial-up
connection. However, Totalusa.net offers an automatic installer/configurator.
The software for this can be found at http://www.totalusa.net/software/.
1) Double-click on the [My Computer] icon
on your desktop.
2) Double-click the [Dial-Up Networking]
icon.
*NOTE: If there is no [Dial-up Networking] folder in [My Computer],
you will need to install Dial-up Networking.
3) Double-click [Make New Connection],
or click [next] if prompted.

4) Enter "TotalUSA.net Internet" for the
[Name of the computer you are dialing].
5) Be sure your modem is selected in the
[Select a Modem] field. If not, select it now.
6) Click [Next].

7) Enter your local Totalusa.net access number
here. (e.g., 774-0110 for Logan)
8) Click [Next].

9) Click [Finish].
*NOTE: Depending on your current system configuration, you may
be prompted to install the [Dial-Up Network Adapter]. If so, click
[OK] to install. (You may be prompted to insert your Win95/98
disk(s).)
10) Click once on the [TotalUSA.net Internet]
icon now showing in your [Dial-Up Networking] folder.
11) Select the [File] menu, then select [Properties].
12) Click on the [Server Types] tab.
13) Under both [Advanced Options] and [Allowed
Network Protocols] UNCHECK everything but [TCP/IP].
14) Click [TCP/IP Settings].

15) Select [Specify name server addresses].
16) In the spaces now available next to [Primary
DNS], enter "64.137.0.6".
17) In the spaces available next to [Secondary
DNS], enter "205.171.3.65".
18) Click [OK] until you're back to the [Dial-up
Networking] folder.

19) To dial, double-click the [TotalUSA.net
Internet] icon, enter your Totalusa account name in the space
labeled [User Name], enter your password in the space labeled
[Password], then click [Dial].
