Troubleshooting Connection Problems:
Connection issues can be annoying and troublesome, but usually are not a problem with your chosen ISP. Many times
they are related to poor phone signals on your phone lines and problematic modems. To workaround those problems you can try the following suggestions.
Setting Disconnect Options for the Connection-
1) Find the Internet Explorer icon on your desktop and double-click on it.
2) Close any connect boxes that popup and then click on the Tools menu and choose Internet Options.

3) This will bring up the Internet Options dialog.

4) Click on the Connections tab.

5) Select your dialup connection and then click on Settings.

6) Click on the Advanced button.

7) Uncheck both the Disconnect if idle box and the Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed box.
8) Click OK until you get back to your Internet Explorer window with your homepage.
9) This tells the modem to not disconnect unless you tell it to do so. It typically helps if those boxes were checked. If they were unchecked, try the next option.
Domain Name Server (DNS) Settings-
1) Follow steps 1-5 as previously shown.
2) When you get to the Connection Settings window choose Properties.

3) Click on the Networking tab.

4) Double-click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).

5) Leave Obtain an IP address automatically as shown above. Select Use the following DNS server addresses and enter 64.137.0.6 for the Preferred DNS server and 205.171.3.65 for the Alternate DNS server.
Note: These settings only work for Windows 2000 and Windows XP users. For help regarding Windows 95/98/ME, please visit this page for more help.
