Mac FreePPP 1.0.5 Configuration Instructions

 1) Open your Apple menu, go to [Control Panels], and select [FreePPP].

 2) Set the [Port Name:] to which port your modem is on.

 3) [Idle Timeout (minutes):] should be set to [None].

 4) [Echo Interval (seconds):] should be set to [Off].

 5) Check [Disable Auto Connect], [Hangup on Close] and [Quiet Mode].

 6) Click on [Config...].

 7) Enter "Totalusa" into the [PPP Server Name:] field.

 8) [Flow Control:] should be set to [CTS & RTS (DTR)] unless you have a Global Village Modem, then it should be set to [CTS Only].

 9) Enter your local Totalusa dial-up number in the [Phone Num] field.

10) Set [Modem connect timeout:] to 90 seconds.

11) Click on [Authentication...].

12) Enter your Totalusa.net account name in the [Auth. ID:] field

13) Enter your Totalusa.net password in the [Password:] field.

Note: Your account name and password are case-sensitive.

14) [Retries:] should at least be set to "1" and the [Timeout:] should be set to "3" seconds.

15) Click on [OK].

16) Click on [LCP Options].

17) Click on [Default Settings].

18) Check all boxes next to [Protocol field compression] and [Addr/cntl field compression].

19) Check [Want] and [Will] under the [Remote] column next to [Authentication].

20) Click on [OK].

21) Click on [IPCP Options...].

22) Click on [Default Settings].

23) Uncheck all boxes next to [TCP Header Comp.(VJ)].

24) Click on [OK].

25) Click on [Done].
