Windows XP Dial-up Configuration Instructions

1) Click on the [Start] button, go to [All Programs], [Accessories], [Communications], and select [New Connection Wizard].

2) On the [New Connection Wizard] screen, click [Next].

3) Select [Connect to the Internet].
4) Click [Next].

5) Select [Setup my connection manually].
6) Click [Next].

7) Select [Connect using a dial-up modem].
8) Click [Next].

9) In the field labeled [ISP Name], type in "TotalUSA Internet ".
10) Click [Next].

11) In the field labeled [Phone Number:], enter your local TotalUSA access number. (e.g.: For Logan, you'd enter "774-0110")
12) Click [Next].

13) In the field labeled [User name:], enter your TotalUSA account name (i.e.. user@totalusa.net)
14) In the field labeled [Password:], enter your password.
15) In the field labeled [Confirm Password:], enter your password again.
16) Click [Next].

17) If you'd like a shortcut added to your desktop, click [Add a shortcut to this connection to my desktop] and click [Finish].

18) Click [Start], go to [Connect To], and select [TotalUSA Internet]. (You can also double-click the [TotalUSA Internet] icon on your desktop if you chose to add it.)

19) Click the [Properties] button.

*NOTE: On the [General] tab that appears next, you must check [Use dialing rules] if you have to dial a number to access an outside line, have call waiting disabled, need to dial long distance, or have a calling card set up.
20) Click on the [Networking] tab.
21) If [Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)] isn't highlighted, click once to highlight it and then click on the [Properties] button.

22) Select [Use the following DNS server addresses].
23) In the space provided next to [Preferred DNS server:], enter "64.137.0.6"
24) In the space provided next to [Alternate DNS server:], enter "205.171.3.65"
25) Click [OK], then [OK] again.
26) Click [Dial] to connect.
